On one side is the video Waterwheel, a loop that shows a rotating ship's waterwheel. The abstractions of color, shape and motion caused by the close-up video recording are reminiscent of some of Moreau's remarkably textured backgrounds. The projection on the other side of the surface is Poet, a close-up of the face of the actor Philippe Duclos, who is asked to "do nothing other than to be," with only the most subtle shifts of expression instigated by verbal prompts drawn from Moreau's writings. Both of these videos are silent, presenting purely visual images of expressionist movement and contemplative stillness of the sort Moreau often combines in his paintings.
