In Progress > "Rappaccini's Daughter" - Multi-media Collaboration

This collaboration with Lou Mallozzi is based on Nathaniel Hawthorne’s short story “Rappaccini’s Daughter” (1844). Through research at the Hawthorne archive in Salem, Mass., video and sound recording at Padua’s Botanic Garden and Anatomical Theater, and the collection of images, sounds and materials from other locations, the artists explore the story’s themes and images: control of nature, botanic speculation, medical ethics.
